Our Work

Euphony is preparing some Christmas music for our annual appearance at the Crete Country Christmas. We are also getting serious about our music reading.
Up to this point we have been working with sheet music that looks like this.

(Here it is as a PDF.) Well, all of the highlighted information should come to us just as if we were reading easy words. That's our biggest goal this year. At the end of this post, you can find downloadable, printable PDFs of other songs we are preparing. (Please know that I will resist putting French Folk Song there as long as I can.)
There are wonderful, time-tested books called Master Theory. We have already begun to work with them. One of the great things about Master Theory is the format. Each page lays out some information then quizzes you on that lesson. And it's so well done that a parent might be able to work on it at home with their musician. I would, of course, suggest that you buy these books. (If you get one, do consider getting it through Amazon Smile and get Amazon to donate to the Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra that they locate in Flossmoor - it's our parent organization. In fact I say select us and then only buy things that are Amazon Smile eligible.) In the meantime, you might get it here.

As we work on playing at sight we will use a book called I Can Read Music. At the moment I don't have a digital copy to share with you. Check back. This is another book designed to be worked on in partnership with your musician.
